Sterling Silver Centrepiece Bowl

This centrepiece bowl was commissioned as a 60th birthday gift. The bowl is 18cm wide and the plinth 30 cm wide. The bowl is hand engraved with the names of the donors, the base of the bowl inside carries an inscription and the hallmark. The stone plinth carries a (deliberately misquoted) line from Tennyson's Charge of the Light Brigade.
I hand-carve lettering on stone, in this example the stone is Hopton Wood limestone from Derbyshire. The matt surface of the stone is the perfect complement to the high finish on the silver.
